lyrics
If you had told me how long it would be
Would it have been any easier?
I’ve spent years
Falling asleep to chemicals
And dissonant frequencies
Locked in a room with no windows
Dancing with my shadows
Imprinting my retina with the shit on the screen
Isolated without human interaction
Jacking off to flashing lights
I dug my way out of over a decade
One day at a time
Caught by my own reflection
I’ve become the beast that I once sought to destroy
My lips belong to an old boy
He smiles and says to me:
"Laugh and world laughs with you
Weep and you weep alone"
It begs the question:
Even if I’m no better than a beast
Don’t I deserve to live?
Even though I’m worse than a beast
Don’t I deserve to live?
I'll cut my fucking tongue off
I'll be your fucking dog
I'll never speak again
I'll never speak again
No matter the weight
In water
It sinks the same
No matter the wait
In water it sinks the same
Revenge is good for your health
But the pain will find you again
Revenge is good for your health
But the pain will find you again
Revenge is good for your health
But the pain will find you again

Quite possibly the most full-on album I've ever listened to. Intense, and then some. 'Digital Tarpit' could describe both the track and the whole album: high-pitched guitar squeals that make your fillings itch coupled with merciless, suffocating heaviness. The Avenell-esque vocals top it off perfectly.
Brilliant - punishing, but brilliant. jim_fuego
